Kitchen

The Space

Fully functional kitchen suitable for catering for small and large functions.

St Luke’s is registered on the Eco Church scheme and as such we encourage all who use these facilities to opt for reusable, washable cups as opposed to disposable, single-use plastic cups. Where possible, we also encourage hirers to provide vegetarian or vegan food as a substitute for, at least in part, meat-based dishes where possible.

Hundreds of servings of food and drink can be made through the hatches both into the coffee room and the worship area.

Accessibility

There is a flat, non-stepped doorway to the kitchen from the hallway, though the doorframe is standard width with a relatively narrow gap between the work surfaces.

An external door of standard width exits to the rose garden to the side of the church.

Facilities

Fully functional kitchen utilities include: microwave, industrial dishwasher, oven with grill, sink, and an industrial coffee percolator, and fridge-freezer. The kitchen has a large number of cups, crockery and cutlery available for use. Recycling and food waste bins are provided in addition to a general waste bin. For information on what can/cannot be recycled, please visit the guide on Eastleigh Borough Council’s website.
